Nehginpao Kipgen to meet United Nations leaders in India and Malaysia

To discuss the situation of refugees, asylum seekers and the ongoing political transition in Myanmar, Nehginpao Kipgen will meet with leaders of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in India and Malaysia.

Kipgen, a political scientist and general secretary of the U.S.-based Kuki International Forum, will meet with Dominik Bartsch, UNHCR Chief of Mission in India on November 17 in New Delhi; then travel to Thailand (Bangkok and Chiang Mai) to attend a conference from November 20-23; and then proceed to Kuala Lumpur to meet with Richard Towle, UNHCR Chief of Mission in Malaysia on November 26.

During his stay in Malaysia from November 25 to December 1, Kipgen has agreed to be the Chief Host at the Chavang Kut celebration (a post-harvest festival) in Kuala Lumpur on November 27. The Kut organizers have invited Richard Towle to be Guest of Honor.
