Nehginpao Kipgen named Director of CSEAS

Dr. Nehginpao Kipgen, who recently joined the Jindal School of International Affairs at O.P. Jindal Global University as Assistant Professor, has been named Director of the Centre for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS).

Reacting to his appointment, Dr. Kipgen said, “May be more responsibility but I gladly accept it as an honor.”

According to the CSEAS webpage (, the center’s mission is “bridging Southeast Asia with the rest of the world through research and teaching.”

Dr. Kipgen is a Political Scientist whose academic research focuses on South Asia and South East Asia, with specialization on Myanmar (Burma). He has published single-authored books in Routledge (Taylor & Francis), Oxford University Press, and Ruby Press; peer-reviewed academic articles in Social Research, World Affairs, Journal of Asian and African Studies, Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs, Ethnopolitics, Strategic Analysis, South Asia Research, Indian Journal of Political Science, Economic and Political Weekly, and Asian Profile. He has also published over 120 articles in various leading international newspapers and magazines in five continents – Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, and North America.”
